A tragedy and children in shock. This Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in the morning, a drama unfolded during an exit from a recreational center at the Bocage swimming pool, in Vitré, in Ille-et-Vilaine (35), as revealed by Ouest France . It was around 10:30 a.m. when a 3-year-old girl was found inanimate at the bottom of a poolreported the fire department. The emergency services arrived and managed to resuscitate the little girl, then in cardiorespiratory arrest, before transporting her in absolute emergency by helicopter to the Rennes University Hospital.
The scene, particularly traumatic, upset two children who discovered the little girl at the bottom of the water. These young witnesses, also members of the group of around forty children from the Argentré-du-Plessis recreational center, were taken into care, visibly very shocked.
An investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances of this tragic accident and determine how such a situation could have occurred in this setting intended for the leisure and safety of children. A psychological assistance unit has also been set up to help the children who witnessed the scene.
