Informed sources reported that streamer Elias Al-Maliki suffered a sudden fainting during his trial session, today, Thursday, which led to its postponement until next November 12.
This health crisis that Al-Maliki was exposed to came at a time when he was preparing to participate in the “Kings League” tournament organized by Gerard Pique, which is considered one of the most prominent events in the world of electronic games currently.
In the midst of the extensive media coverage that accompanied Al-Maliki’s case, several Amazigh activists decided to waive the complaints filed against him with the King’s Attorney General in Rabat, and former Moroccan national team player Hamza Bourzouk, who had previously accused Al-Maliki of “insulting and defamation,” also waived in his favor, according to what was announced by his agent. Al-Maliki, Marwan Aws.
Although the Amazigh associations waived the initial complaints, the same sources indicated that new associations from the Atlas and Agadir regions intervened by filing additional complaints against Al-Maliki because of his “repeated insults to the Amazigh.”
The Crown Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance in El Jadida had decided to place Elias al-Maliki in the local prison, Sidi Moussa, based on complaints related to the content of his videos.
Al-Maliki is widely known among young people as a content maker specializing in electronic games, as he posted live broadcasts on his YouTube channel that were considered offensive to the Amazigh component, which sparked angry reactions from many activists and human rights associations.
Within the framework of friendly initiatives, lawyer Mohamed Almo, representative of the complaining Amazigh activities, confirmed that an agreement had been reached after the presence of Al-Maliki’s parents, requiring an official apology from him in exchange for waiving the complaints, for humanitarian and social reasons.
Almo explained in a statement to Al-Amq newspaper that a meeting was held in his office, which ended with the complainants relinquishing their complaints.
