Supermarkets, banks, services… what is open and closed this November 1st

Ce 1is November, we celebrate All Saints’ Day in Belgium. A public holiday accompanied by the closure of the majority of businesses. Here is what will be open and closed this Friday.

Banks and municipal administrations

As usual on public holidays, banks will remain closed. Municipal administrations will all be closed (some will be closed until November 4 inclusive, due to the weekend. It is advisable to check their schedules on their respective websites). This will also be the case for post offices, but post points in local stores open on this public holiday will still be accessible.

Pharmacies and supermarkets

Pharmacies will also be closed: if necessary, you will have to turn to on-call pharmacies. You can find on-call pharmacies near you here.

Most supermarkets will also be closed. You will have to head to the stores usually open on Sundays and public holidays to do your shopping, such as Carrefour Express or Proxy Delhaize. However, it is advisable to check their opening hours on the internet before going there.

Amusement parks and cinemas

The parks of Walibi (full until November 2 inclusive), Plopsaland, Bellewaerde, Mini-Europe, Pairi Daiza, Aventure Parc and others will be open this Friday, in a Halloween atmosphere. Be sure to check the opening hours of each park online. For the occasion, some parks even offer an adapted evening schedule.

Finally, the majority of cinemas will remain open during this public holiday, such as UGC and Kinepolis. You will find more information on cinema opening hours in Belgium here.
