The Universitat Jaume I has suspended teaching and research activity due to the weather situation in the province of Castellón. The university community has announced, through official channels, that given the change of alert to orange level on the southern coast by the Generalitat, it is suspending all activities for today.

The UJI reminds community members to avoid traveling and recommends workers who are already in their jobs to remain there.

Emergency meeting in Castellón

The city council of the capital, together with the security forces, has called an emergency meeting to decide whether to activate the relevant protocols in the face of the rainy situation that is passing through the territory.

After meeting, the council has decided not to suspend classes in educational centers.

In Castellón, in just 20 minutes 25 liters have accumulated, which has caused flooding in some areas such as Valencia Avenue or the Palau de la Festa.

Castellón municipalities cancel classes

Some towns in the province of Castellón have also decided to cancel classes. These are municipalities such as Vila-real, Torreblanca and Benassal.
