Saturday October 26, 2024, it was around 6 a.m. when the victim, a 25-year-old man, returned from the Panama nightclub, in Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) and parked on Boulevard de Verdun.
He comes across a 17-year-old teenager, who orders him to give him the keys to the car, a Peugeot 208.
He makes videos on Snapchat bragging
At 4:30 p.m., the 25-year-old from Dieppe came to file a complaint at the police station. Friends of his have seen various videos circulating on the social network Snapchat, where the thief allegedly boasts of having taken the vehicle.
The anti-crime squad is called upon to find the teenager. At 6:30 p.m. the same day, the police saw him on a scooter and arrested him.
The young man suspected that they would come for him.
A summons before the children's judge
The thief hid the keys in an electrical box in the city center, at the entrance to Quai Henri-IV. The vehicle was parked at the back of a parking lot in Janval.
Placed in police custody, the teenager, well known to the police, partially admitted the facts.
He will have to appear before the juvenile judge on February 6, 2025 for simple theft.
