It was in the strictest family privacy that Lina was buried in her village of Plaine, in Bas-Rhin. Several hundred people came to attend the funeral of the teenager, who disappeared in September 2023 and whose body was found in Nièvre around ten days ago.
It's a luminous ceremony, like Lina, in the small church of Plaine. 300 lit candles welcomed the last words of Tao, her boyfriend. “I leave you forever a piece of my heart, you who knew how to offer me a piece of yours. No matter what life throws at me, I know that thanks to you, who was able to prove it to me, love exists,” he said.Thank you for what we experienced, I will never forget you“, Tao continued.
The priest recalled it, more than a funeral, this last goodbye to Lina was a way of letting her fly towards the stars.
A ceremony concludes with the heartbreaking words of Fanny, the teenager's mother. “I miss you so much. May you be at peace, may you be the sun that has always illuminated our lives. (…) Will bring light to those who need it,” she expressed.
When leaving the church, it's Lina's playlist which accompanies a white lantern releasewho intends to take with them, into the sky of Plaine, the radiant smile of a 15-year-old girl.
