Only a week after the launch of the festivities, it is already time for one of the 15 students to leave the Château des Vives-Eaux in Dammarie-les-Lys. This evening, three candidates were in the hot seat: Thomas, a 21-year-old self-taught man from Leuville-sur-Orge (91), who moved people during the first prime with his cover of “Les Yeux de la Mama”, the title of Kendji Girac. A touching tribute to his mother who signed him up for the show a few months earlier. We also find Paul, a young talent of 23 years old whose style and attitude are strangely reminiscent of the rock’n’roll stars he admires so much. And Maylis, a big electro fan from Namur who came to represent Belgium. Tonight, their only goal was to prove to the public and the students that they deserved their place at the “Star Academy”. And one thing is certain: they gave everything.
The last chance song
To defend their place, Thomas, Maylis and Paul first “ tried to seduce the public with a text that they respectively wrote to music by Grand Corps Malade “, explained Nikos Aliagas. The three performances followed one another, allowing each talent to tell their story and open up more to both the other students and the public. Once the emotional sequence was over, all three competed on a final piece: Maylis tackled “You Know I’m Not Good”, one of Amy Winehouse’s hits. Paul covered “Mistral Gagnant” by Renaud, a classic of French song. For his part, Thomas performed “Thousands of I love you”, a moving title by Slimane.

After this last chance song, the verdict is in: Thomas is saved by the public who were able to support their favorite by SMS and on the TF1 + application. With tears in his eyes, the young man joined his comrades comfortably seated on the large sofa on the set. Paul is saved by his comrades, who highlighted his honest and touching performance this evening. It is ultimately Maylis who sees her adventure come to an end. A hard blow for the young woman who of course hoped to go further. But if Paul and Thomas managed to keep their place today, the competition is far from over and the weeks to come promise some unexpected twists and turns, to say the least.
