The Iranian national football team will try to win three consecutive World Cup qualifying matches.
Iran will face Uzbekistan in Group A of the third qualifying round for the 2026 North China World Cup in Asia on October 10 at 11 p.m. (Korean Standard Time) at Millie Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan .
Iran is a 4-2-3-1 formation. Taremi stands in front. Azmoun and Jahanbakhsh will take care of attacks on the left and right. Godos will play as a central attacking midfielder, while Ezatolahi and Mohevi will act as a ball and water link in the third line. Mohammadi and Hardani will play left and right full-backs, while Karilzadeh and Nemati will work together as central defenders. The goal is kept by Beiranband.
Iran competes against Uzbekistan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), North Korea, Qatar and Kyrgyzstan in Group A of the third round of Asian qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in North China.
Iran won its two consecutive matches against Kyrgyzstan (home 1-0) and United Arab Emirates (away 1-0) in September.
Uzbekistan is also on the rise. Uzbekistan also beat North Korea (home 1-0) and Kyrgyzstan (away 3-2) in two consecutive matches in September.
The team that wins the Oct. 10 showdown could move one step closer to the 2026 World Cup finals in North Korea and the United States.
