The Superior Council of Justice (CSJ) has proposed the appointment of Julien Moinil to the post of King’s Prosecutor in Brussels, it announced Wednesday on its website.
According to the CSJ, Julien Moinil has 16 years of experience within the judicial system. He began his career as a lawyer at the Brussels bar in 2008. Since 2018, Julien Moinil has been a federal magistrate at the federal prosecutor’s office where he is a member of the “sectionorganized crime“in charge of the fight against arms trafficking, international drug trafficking, corruption, major tax and social fraud and money laundering.
“He also has solid international experience, particularly in the context of international judicial cooperation in criminal matters.», underlines the CSJ. The King, in this case the Minister of Justice, now has 50 days to confirm the presentation of the CSJ. The mandate of the King’s Prosecutor lasts five years, renewable once.
