Nintendo launches… an interactive alarm clock, the Alarmo

While everyone is waiting for the Switch 2, Nintendo is playing on our nerves by unveiling… an alarm clock. The Alarmo is no less surprising and promises waking up with a bang, to the sound of your favorite games.

Nintendo has the art of surprise. The manufacturer has in fact just unveiled not the successor to the Switch, but an alarm clock, and why not! L’Alarm don’t just ring a bell to force people to stand up. The device’s color screen displays sequences from several games (Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild…) with associated sounds. 35 scenes are offered, you can choose them the day before.

An alarm clock that responds to movements

When you wake up, you just have to gesture with your hands (or get out of bed when possible) to stop the alarm: it incorporates a motion sensor, as the American FCC revealed a few weeks ago by unveiling the first information on the device.

However, you should know that the alarm clock cannot distinguish a pet or a fan: if something moves in the sensor field, it can confuse these movements with those of the user. And if there is a second person in the bed, their movements could also be confused with the “legitimate” sleeper.

There is a “button mode” function for more traditional operation, without movement recognition. The Alarmo doesn’t stop there. It also allows you to view your sleep history (time spent in bed, restlessness during sleep, time needed to get up). Before falling into the arms of Morpheus, the alarm clock can produce relaxing sounds. The device can also produce an hourly chime to punctuate the day.

If the price in euros has not been specified, in the United States the Alarmo costs $100. The machine will be marketed from mid-January, but paying Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will be able to order it without delay, during the week in .
