Well rather than having a traditional scenario mode, the title offers an episode mode divided by characters whose story we will relive. If we take Goku for example, we will start with the fight against Radditz, then continue on the Saiyan, Namek, Cell arc until the Dragon Ball Super Tournament of Power. But where this episode mode is original is that it offers alternative scenarios if you manage to complete secondary objectives during certain fights.
For example, if you manage to defeat Radditz without Goku needing to sacrifice himself, then you unlock new fights that imagine what would have happened if Goku were alive when Vegeta and Nappa arrived on Earth. Sometimes this just gives rise to a single alternate story, but other times it gives us access to a whole new series of never-before-seen battles. And then, since there are eight character stories to discover, you will have several hours of play before seeing the end of it, especially if you want to see all the alternative scenarios. On paper, the idea is nice rather than repeating the story of Dragon Ball that everyone knows by heart. But in reality…
