Several unions are calling for demonstrations in Rennes, Tuesday October 1, 2024. Pension reform, salary increases, support for the public service… The demands are numerous.

The demonstration will also be accompanied by a national movement of strike. In the Breton capital, school canteens and daycare centers are impacted.

An exemption from attendance at Rennes 2

Working Force, the CGT et SNES-FSU were present for this mobilization. THE New Popular Front (NFP) and the alliance of left parties announced their support and participation in the rally.

The high school and student union Union Pirate also joins the mobilization. The management of Rennes 2 University, at the request of the Union Pirate, suspended the attendance requirement during lessons, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., to “allow students to exercise their right to demonstrate”.

Several gatherings in Ille-et-Vilaine

In the department, gatherings are also planned in Fougères, Saint-Malo and Redon.

In France, many cities will be mobilized, such as Nantes, Lannion, Paris and La Rochelle.
