Australian Open > Tsitsipas: “Honestly, I don’t want to answer any more questions about my father”

During his appearance at a press conference before the start of the Australian Open (January 12 to 26), Stefanos Tsitsipas was once again questioned about his decision to part ways with his historic coach, his father, Apostolos Tsitsipas, in last August.

“Honestly, I don’t want to answer any more questions about my father. He was an exceptional coach, I can only be grateful for what he did. She’s a great person, who sacrificed everything for ten years, for her entire life, always putting up with a lot of stress. Coming from a small country like Greece, with no tennis tradition, I am proud of how he took me to the top and how we resolved the crucial moments. These moments shaped me as a player, these were the years when I showed my true potential. I still think he is one of the best coaches in the world, we have a great relationship, but now I have to continue on my own to mature as an adult. Beyond that, he remains a fundamental person for me, both professionally and personally, I owe him everything”said the current 11e world player in comments reported by Break Point.
