No third consecutive coronation in Australia for Aryna Sabalenka! The world number one was indeed beaten by Madison Keys at the end of a final full of suspense (6/3, 2/6 and 7/5). At 29, the 19th seed signs the greatest success of his career after his lost final at the US Open in 2017.

The American started her final perfectly with a breakent from the start. Better, she even managed to pocket the world number one's serve a second time before offering herself a set point at 5-1. The double title holder barely escaped and even came back to 5-3, before losing her serve a third time to see the American win the first set six games to three in just over half an hour .
