Diane Parry overtakes Caroline Garcia as French number 1 in the WTA rankings

Exited in the first round on Sunday in Melbourne by Donna Vekic (6-4, 6-4), Diane Parry occupied the French number 1 place in the WTA rankings published just before the start of matches at the Australian Open. The native of Nice was ranked 66th player in the world, just ahead of Caroline Garcia (67th), without having yet played in 2025. Her compatriot had lost the points acquired in January 2024 at the United Cup then at the Adelaide tournament. Varvara Gracheva is the third Frenchwoman in the top 100, in 69th place.
