In Tennis, we are getting closer to the end of the international women’s tournament which is taking place at the Germain Soumbo League Center in Lamentin. There will only be 4 of the 32 entered on the courts in singles while in doubles, it is final day.
This Saturday afternoon, we will play the final of the doubles tournament with the duo Olivia Lincer (Poland) / Clervie Ngounoue (USA) who will face a Canadian pair composed of Cadence Brace and Victoria Mboko.
Friday January 10, Licer and Ngounoue dismissed the pair Anna Hertel (Poland) and Alizé Lim (France) in two sets 6/2, 6/4.
As for the Canadian pair (who will also face each other in the semi-final of the singles tournament) Brace/Mboko, they eliminated the German pair composed of Nicole Rivkin and Vivien Sandberg 6/1, 6/2.

Day after day, the faithful of TC la Plaine, the host site of this Martinique tournament, were able to appreciate the quality of the players and with the final funnel and this penultimate round, this Saturday from 3 p.m., it will there will be beautiful gestures, intensity and undoubtedly a good audience.
On court No. 1, there will be a duel between Canadians with Cadence Brace, the No. 5 seed of the tournament who will face her compatriot Victoria Mboko, seed No. 4. Yesterday, Cadence Brace (337e world) won her quarter-final against Nicole Rivkin 6/3, 6/4. For her part, Victoria Mboko (333e world) dismissed the French Mathilde Lollia in two sets, 7/5, 6/4.

Frenchwoman Harmony Tan, ranked 115e player, in June 2022 beat the American Serena Williams at Wimbledon after a 3-hour match before leaving the tournament in 1/8e final after a defeat against Amanda Anisimova, score 6/2, 6/3. That’s for the story. This Saturday Tan, 286e world, will face it the 280e world, Clervie Ngounoue who has impressed since the start of the week.
The two semi-finalists are close in the rankings and in their quest for points to progress in the WTA (World Tennis Association) rankings, this opposition is important.
