The winner of the prestigious Melbourne tennis tournament will pocket more money than last year. The competition starts on Sunday January 12.
In 2024, the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and the Italian Jannik Sinner each received 1.94 million euros, after their respective victories in the women’s and men’s draw of the Australian Open tennis tournament. Their successors, in 2025, will receive more.
The prize pool has in fact been increased for the winners of the famous tennis Grand Slam, the first on the calendar of the year.
The winners of the men’s and women’s tournament will each pocket €2.1 million.

The finalist competitors will each receive 1.14 million euros, the beaten semi-finalists will pocket 660,000 euros. As for the “doubles” tables, the victorious pairs will receive 487,000 euros.
This year, the overall prize pool for the tournament reached 58.18 million euros, an increase of 12% compared to the previous edition.
The 2025 Australian Open takes place in Melbourne from January 12 to 26.
