If the couple is delighted to share the good news on social networks, some react in a more reserved, even negative way. Thus, the author and essayist Éric Naulleau expressed himself on this new authorship: “I do not reason from his case, which is a somewhat borderline case. But I believe that, for example, if we have a child at eighty years old, it’s totally irresponsible!” he declared in the show “Pascale, Éric, Yann and the others” on the C8 channel.

He continues: “Mathematically, you are condemning this child to grow up without a father. I don't think that's desirable. Best case scenario, if you live to be 100, your son will be 20 when he has a chance to know you. In reality, there is a greater chance that you will disappear before then.”

Before toughening up his speech somewhat: “I find it irresponsible to give birth to children with whom we will not grow old. Obviously, we cannot impose that on people […]. But I find that there is a form of selfishness that is very reprehensible, from a certain age.”
