The regularity ofAlexander Zverev is not questioned by anyone on the circuit. Despite the anomaly of never having won a Grand Slam since the start of his career, the German has the merit of never losing in the first round. A statistic confirmed in Rolex Paris Masters with success against Tallon Greek track Wednesday evening (7-6(2), 6-3). Zverev was beaten only once when entering the fray in 2024, during theATP 500 d’Acapulco. He therefore played in all the round of 16 of Masters 1000. A first on the ATP circuit since… 2017, calculated Game, set and math.

Nadal and Berdych did it twice
At the time, Rafael Nadal had achieved this major performance. The Spaniard won Monte Carlo et Rome and reached the final at Miami et Madrid. He had also achieved the same feat in 2009, and could have confirmed in 2010 but had withdrawn from Bercy. He is not the only one to have shown such regularity. Czech Tom Berdych had reached the round of 16 of each Masters 1000 in 2011 and 2013, without playing in a single final, often stopped by a member of the Big 3. Zverev joined Novak Djokovicwho surprisingly only performed it once, in 2009.
This season, Zverev won the tournament Rome in the spring, and reaches the half to Miami et Cincinnati. He will challenge Arthur Son for a place in the quarter-finals of the Rolex Paris Masters this Thursday.
