Not content with rehabilitating sports facilities dating back 30 or even 40 years, the town of Feytiat has expanded them with a new structure to train even more young people in .

The Feytiat tennis club created in 1979 has seen its infrastructure improve over the years, with the creation of a first covered court in 1981, followed by a second in 1984, then the club house in 1991 and two courts exteriors in 1999.

These facilities required renovation, and were supplemented by the creation of a third covered court by the municipality which will facilitate the practice of members from this year. This investment required two years of work and was subsidized to the tune of 38% of the overall cost.

The inauguration of the works took place on October 2, in the presence of Gaston Chassain, mayor of Feytiat, François Pesneau, prefect of Haute-, Stéphane Ostrowski, departmental councilor, Dominique Decoux, vice-president of the French tennis federation , Emmanuel Perrin, vice-president of the Feytiat tennis club, local elected officials, members of the tennis club, companies which carried out the work and the architect.

Pierre Lecompte-Chaulet, founding member of the Feytiat tennis club, unveiled the signage of the hall which now bears his name, given his investment in the discipline and his commitment to young Feytiat athletes.

A beautiful collection

Lionel Vincent presented to the public, for the occasion, his collection of old rackets, witness to the evolution of tennis equipment. Passionate about history and tennis, he has created a private collection of 200 models of old rackets, around forty of which date from the last century.

To close this event, the personalities present put on their tennis shoes to exchange a few balls on the 3 e short, alongside the coaches and management members of the club.
