Logitech extends its partnership with iFixit to the European Union. Users can purchase spare parts to repair their Logitech devices themselves.
Logitech has a long history of working with iFixit to improve the availability of parts and repair manuals. Today, Logitech announced the expansion of this collaboration globally, including to the European Union. It will thus be possible to find spare parts and manuals to repair Logitech mice, keyboards and headsets yourself.
“Our products are built to last, but normal wear and tear is inevitable. That’s why we strive to make it easier for consumers to access original parts for their devices. Repairability further extends service life. We encourage people to make simple repairs to save money and produce less waste,” said Prakash Arunkundrum, Logitech COO.
Do it yourself
Logitech sells the parts through iFixit, which has set up a Logitech Repair Hub on its website. Parts are available for around 20 products, ranging from mice to keyboards to headsets. The parts available on iFixit come directly from Logitech, so you can assume they are compatible with the devices.

Self-repairs require a steady hand and some product knowledge. iFixit offers manuals for simple repairs, available in several languages, including English, French, Spanish, German and Dutch. If self-repair is too difficult, it is wiser to go to an authorized repair center.
Right to repair
The right to repair has been in place in the European Union since last year. Legislation requires manufacturers of electronic equipment to encourage self-repair. In addition to offering parts and manuals, device design should also make repairs easier. Manufacturers are also required to offer repairs beyond the legal warranty period.
In its press release, Logitech refers to several studies showing that there is strong consumer demand for auto repairs. The majority of them say they prefer repair to replacement. The cost of repair is the deciding factor.
