New contacts application alternative launched on iPhone!

For people with many contacts that they want to manage efficiently, Andrew Theis has designed an alternative app to Apple’s Contacts app. Called “People”, this application allows you to add various information to each contact beyond the usual data, such as the place and date of your meeting, personal notes and the relationship between this contact and others. The beta version of the app will launch on January 28.

“I developed a product aimed at those who meet a lot of people for professional or personal reasons, but have difficulty remembering everyone. If you find yourself in the same situation as me, you may have gotten into the habit of writing down names in your notes – an impractical solution. That’s why I created a tool to help you better organize your contacts and all the people in your life.”

With People, you will be able to save various information for each contact. In addition to the classic fields found in other applications, such as telephone number, email address and date of birth, you can also enter other useful data, such as location and time of your first meeting or how you were introduced. Relationships between contacts can be defined, giving you a visualization of your social network via the “Social Graph” function.

People offers an option to sync with the Contacts app. Photo: YouTube screenshot.

People allows synchronization with the Contacts application, thus avoiding double entry of contacts. Additionally, the app offers widgets for the home screen and lock screen that display, for example, recently met people. A preview of the People feature is available in this short YouTube clip.

Beta availability starting January 28

-

You will be able to use People from January 28 in beta. All you have to do is register on the publisher’s website to be informed when the download is available.

In conclusion, “People” seems to respond to a growing need for organization and contact management in a world where social interactions are frequent and varied. This application could provoke reflections on the importance of maintaining personal relationships by taking into account our exchanges. Should modern tools replace traditional methods of note-taking, or does the human connection remain paramount?
