TeamSpeak, the ancestor of Discord, is returning in 2025 to regain its place in the community server market.
Renowned among the gaming community, the communication platform TeamSpeak has unveiled new features for 2025. These announcements seem to be aimed directly at its spiritual successor and now major competitor: Discord.
A modernized interface
It’s on X (formerly Twitter) that TeamSpeak has announced a complete overhaul of its interface. With a design adapted to 2025 standards, the platform takes the opportunity to introduce several new features, including:
- Screen and camera sharing,
- Streaming in 1440p at 60 FPS,
- Le multi-streamingallowing simultaneous broadcasting on multiple platforms.
For the company, the ambition is clear, it wants to once again become a key player and make Discord forget.
A titan to challenge
This challenge promises to be complex for TeamSpeak, but not insurmountable. Discord benefits from a loyal user base built over the years, combined with simplicity of configuration which makes it an essential reference. Its numerous features, regularly enhanced, give it a lead that is difficult to make up for.
-However, TeamSpeak has serious advantages. With widely recognized audio expertise, the company can rely on a competitive paid offerreports Windows Central. At approximately €8 per month, owners of private servers benefit from advantages that technically and economically surpass the Discord Nitro Boost Level 2which costs €30 per month to offer improved audio and video quality (streaming in 1080p at 60 FPS).
It now remains to be seen whether these efforts will be enough to attract the gaming community.
