Casio G-Shock DWE5600JB1A9 watch with better battery life is now available for pre-order

The Casio G-Shock DWE5600JB1A9 watch, designed in collaboration with J Balvin, is now available for pre-order in the United States. The model, also known as the DWE-5600JB-1A9, was announced by the Japanese watch brand and Latin artist earlier this year.

You can now pre-order the Casio G-Shock DWE5600JB1A9 in the United States for $230, the scheduled price. This makes it much more expensive than DW5600 watches such as the DW5600E-1V, which typically sells for $99.95 but is currently available on Amazon for $44.97.

The differences between the J Balvin collaboration model and this older 5600 series model include the addition of the Carbon Core Guard structure. It also has LED backlighting rather than electroluminescent, which Casio claims increases battery life by three years; the product page states that the newer watch will run for up to five years on a CR2016 battery.

Additionally, the DWE5600JB1A9 has a more unusual feature: it comes with two straps and two cases, one black and the other yellow. Other features include 200m water resistance, 1/100th second stopwatch, countdown timer and multi-function alarm. Casio has not yet announced plans to release the Casio G-Shock DWE5600JB1A9 watch in other markets like Europe.
