WhatsApp wants to become more fun and more user-friendly. To achieve this, its designers are introducing four new functions at the start of the year.

Among them, the possibility of designing personalized stickers directly in the application. “You can now turn your selfies into stickers,” the developers explain on their blog. How to do it? You need to tap on the “Create Sticker” icon. A camera option then appears, allowing you to take a selfie, which will ultimately be transformed into a sticker.

Next change: Sticker packs can now be shared in discussions, even those you created yourself.

30 backgrounds, filters and effects

Another innovation concerns the sharing of videos or photos. Users can now enhance them with 30 custom backgrounds, filters and effects. Until now, this was only possible during a video call via WhatsApp.

Finally, there is a change in reactions to a message in a conversation. In the future, double-tapping it will access a menu that will display the most frequently used reactions.

These four elements are already published and all users should have access to them soon. The developers plan to present other new features soon:

“We look forward to the exciting year ahead”
