Not content with revealing the existence of the remake in black and white, this developer (who risks being slapped on the wrist) confirms thatOblivion sera “completely redone” under Unreal Engine 5. We are therefore talking about a complete remake with numerous adjustments to modernize the experience which, apparently, must have become quite old since its initial release in 2006.
The leak thus advances six aspects of the game which have been reworked: first of all, there is the enemy locking system, the original being considered too “boring” et “frustrating”which would now be closer to that of Souls-like and today's action games. Likewise, the stealth mechanics would have been reviewed, as would the damage inflicted which would be rebalanced. Reactions to the blows given would also have been added to make everything more credible. Endurance would also have been remodeled so that it would be more flexible and fairer, while archery would have been shaped so that it would be easier to learn, at the first as at the third person. Finally, the interface and menus would have been modernized to suit a younger clientele.
From now on, all that remains is to wait patiently for proper formalization. NateTheHate declares for his part that this remake ofOblivion would be scheduled for June 2025, but it would not however be revealed during the Xbox_Developer_Direct scheduled for January 23: instead, it would be a game from a Japanese franchise with several decades of existence, information also corroborated by MP1st.
