This robot vacuum cleaner has an arm to pick up objects

Designed by the Chinese company Roborock, the Saros 270 has a mechanical arm allowing it to move obstacles in its path during cleaning.

Welcome to a new era of robot vacuum cleaners.” At CES 2025, the Chinese company Roborock unveiled the Saros 270, a robot vacuum cleaner that is far from being similar to the others. It is in fact equipped with a mechanical arm, which it can use to pick up objects in its path when cleaning.

Measuring 20 centimeters, the Saros 270 has two cameras that allow it to see its environment, to then “think and act”. While it is pre-programmed to recognize 108 objects, users have the option to add 50 more in the mobile app, for the robot vacuum to identify using AI-based recognition technology.

An “ideal companion” for your animals

Once it recognizes an object, the vacuum cleaner’s arm has been designed to “gently” grip it and “hold it securely” so as not to damage it. If necessary, he can also release it. Please note that the Saros 270 cannot lift objects weighing more than 300 g.

The robot vacuum cleaner can also be an “ideal companion” for your animals. Able to recognize them, it can take pictures of them with the camera located on the front and avoid them when cleaning. In your absence, it can even help you get news with video calls for example.

For the moment, Roborock has not communicated any information regarding its release date and price.
