One of the major changes that the Windows 11 beta has just received with version 22635.4660 (KB5048808) concerns the File Explorer. Context menus now benefit from better readability thanks to the addition of labels for common actions. Commands such as cut, copy, paste, rename, share and delete are clearly identified, making navigation more intuitive.

Windows Magnifier also receives significant improvements. In addition to the keyboard shortcut CTRL + ALT + « – » To quickly switch between the current zoom and a 1X zoom, Microsoft is adding two new buttons. These allow you to respectively adapt the zoom to the screen and return to the user’s preferred magnification level.

Microsoft is parting ways with one of its features

On the other hand, Microsoft announces the abandonment of the suggested actions which appeared when copying telephone numbers or future dates. This feature will be gradually disabled with this update.

The developers also fixed several issues affecting the performance and stability of File Explorer, thereby optimizing the overall user experience.

It is important to note that these new features are gradually being rolled out to Insiders in the Beta channel. To quickly benefit from it, users must enable the corresponding option in Windows Update settings. Without this activation, the features will be distributed later, once their stability is confirmed.

Microsoft reminds that certain features in testing could be modified, removed or replaced before their final deployment. In addition, the localization of certain new features could be incomplete at first, with translations being finalized as development progresses.

If you still haven’t upgraded to Windows 11 because your PC was not compatible when the new version was launched, we remind you that Microsoft recently relaxed its policy. Your PC will now be eligible, but it will not receive the security patches deployed by the company.
