It was in an electric atmosphere that the finals of the U18 and U20 categories took place this Saturday afternoon, in Chamonix and Montmartin-sur-Mer. After already hotly contested qualifications, the young climbers have once again proven the excellence of the French level!
Here are the results.
Chamonix
In Chamonix, the U18 finals challenged the competitors. For girls, the best finalists will only complete the first block of the finals, so the ranking will be based on the number of zones. In this game, Macha Brebion wins with 4 zones to its credit, ahead of Elisa Passemard et Alwena Gouello (3 zones).
Among boys, tops are almost all equally rare. It is Maël Reynaud who leaves with gold (2 blocks in 6 tries and 3 zones), finishing just ahead Antonin Gachon (2 blocks in 11 trials and 3 zones). The podium is completed by Octave Zanetti-Large (1 block and 3 zones).
The U20s managed to express themselves better in the final blocks concocted by the openers. Among the women, Chambéry Escalade monopolizes the entire podium by placing Sophia Douglas on the highest step, with 3 blocks and 4 zones. She is slightly ahead Lana Bonnalwhich will take three more tries to achieve the same score. Finally, it is Aude Morineau who leaves with bronze (2 blocks and 4 zones).
For men, it’s the Toulouse Matteo Soule who wins the competition with 4 tops, ahead Tom Mezard et Maël Mussonwho pocket three blocks.
