Lava has unveiled its latest budget smartphone, the Yuva 2 5G, in India. The brand’s new entry-level smartphone takes on the recently launched Moto G35 from Motorola’s recently launched Moto G35. A Unisoc T760 chipset is at the heart of the device, which Lava has paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. It runs Android 14 and there is no information about software updates, indicating that a software update might never arrive.
A new design element is the notification light, which is an important element of the device Lava adds around the rear camera of the Yuva 2 5G smartphone. Additionally, Lava equips the Yuva 2 5G with a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP auxiliary lens and an 8 MP front camera for taking selfies and video chats. It has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W wired charging.
The Lava Yuva 2 5G features a 6.67-inch IPS display that sports a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels with a peak brightness of 700 nits and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The device measures 165 x 75, 8 x 8.65 mm (HWT) (6.49 x 2.98 x 0.34 inches) and weighs 190 grams (0.41 lbs). For comparison, the Moto G35 is 5 grams lighter than the Yuva 2 5G. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that doubles as a power button, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual stereo speakers, expandable RAM up to 4GB, and Bluetooth 5.2 . Unfortunately, it is neither water nor dust resistant.
