While before the release of Indiana Jones and the Elder Circle many players were rather skeptical about the realization of the new production from MachineGames, the game ultimately created a surprise with excellent ratings awarded by the press and the players. It could well be that in addition to having intrigued many Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, the title has managed to sell well in digital format.
Upon its release, the Indiana Jones game became a top digital bestseller in the USA.
Mat Piscatella, executive director and video game industry analyst at Circana, has once again shared some very interesting data, this time regarding the week ending December 14.
He in fact revealed that according to figures collected by Circana, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle occupied second place for best sales in dollars in the United States over this period, just behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Note that the ranking only takes into account games in digital format, and not physical ones. Also, certain publisher data is excluded, such as Electronic Arts' Steam sales, or the sales of several other publishers on the Nintendo eShop.
Regardless, this figure clearly indicates a strong performance for Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, as the title was played a lot through Game Pass. Unfortunately, Xbox and Bethesda have not released any official figures.
If you want to experience Indy's all-new adventures, then you can immerse yourself in Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It integrated Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from its launch, and it will land on PlayStation 5 in spring 2025.
Anyways, don’t usually post stuff about weekly rankings, but Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was the #2 best-selling video game for week ending Dec 14th in US dollar sales, trailing only Call of Duty : Black Ops 6.
Astro Bot went from #11 the week prior to 7th for the week (same week as TGAs).
