The 24H2 version of Windows 11 is still affected by a bug which is seriously enough to annoy more than one user. And no luck, since no fix is currently available.
Since its release in October 2024, the problems caused by the 24H2 update of Windows 11 have been accumulating and nothing seems to be able to stop them. Some applications fail to launch, corrupted files are not repaired correctly, and more recently some games crash because of the automatic HDR option.
But the problems don't stop there. A new bug has just appeared. Microsoft is aware of this and a fix is obviously being studied. On the other hand, those who have already carried out the update have something to worry about.
Again: the 24H2 update of Windows 11 is still the victim of a bug
This time, it is the audio part of the PC that is affected by the Windows 11 update. The computer no longer emits any sound, regardless of the output device you used. Bluetooth device, speakers, headphones… nothing works anymore.
According to Microsoft, the fault lies with the Dirac Audio software, and in particular with the cridspapo.dll file. It could be because of him that no sound comes out of the PC anymore. But as no patch is currently available, there is nothing the user can do to get the sound back on their PC if they want to leave the update 24H2. The only solution is to uninstall version 24H2 and restore 24H1, if possible. In fact, it all depends on the date of installation of the update. Since the files allowing a rollback are generally destroyed after 10 days, there is very little chance that the system will have retained them. As a reminder, the Windows 11 24H2 update began to be deployed in October 2024.
If Microsoft is working with Dirac on a patch, no release date for the patch has been announced. Until the issue is resolved, any attempt to install the 24H2 update is blocked on computers affected by this issue.
