Huawei's upcoming Pura 80 series is rumored to feature the Kirin 9020 processor. Information leaked on Chinese social media site Weibo suggests AnTuTu scores of around 1.2 to 1.3 million points.
In terms of specifications, the phone is said to feature a powerful 5600mAh battery and an OmniVision OV50K sensor for its cameras. As for the screen, customers could have the choice of two styles: a 6.6-inch flat panel or a more eye-catching 6.8-inch quad-curvature option.
The Kirin 9020 chip is said to feature a 12-core processor with support for hyperthreading. It has two main cores clocked at 2.5 GHz, six middle cores clocked at 2.1 GHz, and four small cores clocked at 1.6 GHz. Early benchmarks suggest single-core performance falls somewhere between the Snapdragon 888+ and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, while multi-core performance could rival chips like the Dimensity 8300 and Dimensity 9200.
On the GPU side, Huawei opted for its own Maleoon 920 design, clocked at 840 MHz – an improvement over the Kirin 9010's Maleoon 910, which ran at 750 MHz. The CPU architecture remains quite similar to the Kirin 9010, using HiSilicon's Taishan cores for the heavy lifting and Cortex-A510 cores for efficiency.
It's important to note, however, that Huawei has yet to release any official information regarding the Pura 80, so take the rumors with a grain of salt.
