Apple may have canceled iPhone subscription launch due to technical issues

Apple has reportedly canceled plans to launch a subscription service that would allow users to “subscribe” to a new iPhone every year.

This information was reported by journalist and insider Mark Gurman. Previously, he said the company was working on a system that would allow customers to pay a monthly fee to have access to the device for a certain subscription period.

This service should make it easier to buy expensive iPhones for those who cannot afford to pay the full amount at once, by offering the option of paying for the device in installments each month. Apple currently offers an iPhone upgrade program that allows you to pay for the phone over 12 or 24 months, but the subscription was supposed to be a rolling monthly payment.

After two years of work on the project, Apple may have decided to pause development due to possible regulatory issues, software bugs, and other difficulties. The team that worked on the subscription was reportedly disbanded and refocused on other projects.
