Jeran Campanella participated in the project “The Final Experiment”, which brought together 24 “flatists” and 24 YouTubers who know that the Earth is round, explains BFMTV. Together, they observed the sky and the movements of the sun from the White Continent for 24 hours.

“Sometimes we make mistakes in life”

“Okay guys, sometimes we make mistakes in life,” said Jeran Campanella on his channel “Jeranism”. “I really believed that there was no sun 24 hours a day… Now I really believe that there is,” he continued, putting an end to the assumption that the Earth is flat and that scientists lie to the whole world.

“Don’t listen to my beliefs or opinion, it shouldn’t matter to you. But you should at least be able to accept that the sun does exactly what these guys said,” the American also said.

Theories still very widespread

According to an Ifop study carried out in 2023 and relayed by Info, 35% of French people said they believed in conspiracy theories, with a predominance among the younger generations. On the other hand, 4 out of 10 French people said they adhered to at least one scientific untruth. Among the most cited theories: man is not responsible for global warming, Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the Moon were staged or even that the United States was aware of the September 11 attacks.

Concerning the shape of the Earth, 12% of French people considered it possible that it was flat. Among young people aged 25 to 34, the proportion rises to 20%.
