The Tivoli still arouses the interest of the inhabitants of Clisson. Cet work which owes its construction in 1905to Baroness Marguerite-Antoinette Lemot, granddaughter of François-Frédéric Lemot, the builder of Italianate Clissonattracted 1,200 visitors during the last Heritage Days for which they were open to the public.
A first since 1986date of death of cinema manager and the closing of the latter.
Many people didn’t know what it looked like inside. They were able to realize what we were talking about, when we talked about this vestige, with its stand, the box and its stage still almost intact.
The general meeting was held at the beginning of December, at the Cercle Olivier de Clisson.
Infiltration with rain
Abandoned for almost 40 yearsthe one who was also theater, room for children’s shows or from concertsas in 1961 for the Jacques Brothers, for the benefit of flood victims, and even a gym, was burned down in 2008.
The current municipality was the first to use insurance money to clear out the disaster and leave the building bare (468,000 euros). It must be said that she had provoked the moods of heritage defenders when, having come to power, she had hinted that she could destroy him.
A first step that calls for many others.
Start by putting a roof. It’s urgent.
With the infiltrations that we can see in the walls, we shouldn’t let it freeze too hard, otherwise it could weaken them and not be able to support anything.
A subscription required
To their great dismay, the 92 members of this heritage protection structure will have to wait. Indeed, the estimate of cost of frame consolidation work and the laying the cover turned out to be higher than expected so that the association asked to launch a subscription with the Heritage Foundation to try to obtain the missing 145,000 euros to honor the bill. This campaign should start mid-December and go until September 2025.
The construction can only begin afterwards. “And again, if we got the amount. Which is not certain, even with the advantage of the tax deduction for donors,” indicated the president. A heritage foundation that has already created annoyances within the association since she does not accept the glass roof initially planned by the perspectives created by Philippe Bénézech.
Yet this is what makes rehabilitation beautiful. There’s really no chance of changing the foundation’s mind.
It’s a shame, but once again the urgency is to put a roof on this work. We will have achieved our objective. With or without landerneau.
A patchwork of ideas for occupying places
In the second part of the general assembly, members were able to hear a collective’s project on the possibilities of occupying the place. Ideas that mixed creative workshop (bricolage, art…), broadcast space (live performance, concerts, etc.) and place of games with a catering point.
A place accessible to all generations, every day and in all seasons.
And patchwork of activities which can only operate with the approval of the municipality, owner of the premiseswhose representatives had left during this presentation. And with a financial model, for now hidden by the initiators, which they will have to detail.
This occupation of 350 m2 will generate additional costs between the interior design, initially planned as basic, the implementation of accessibility standards and the heating and lighting needs. Not to mention that the ground is sloping.
Especially since the date of being able to integrate the premises is completely unknown. In the meantime, more down to earth, students from Livet high school will soon come to observe the Tivoli and draw some interior fittings. Sketches that will, one day, just ask to come to life.
