In the news this week on Frandroid: PayPal which is playing a dangerous game with its users’ data, USB-C cables which can “contain” viruses and Microsoft which authorizes the installation of Windows 11 on non-compatible PCs.
Starting in summer 2025, PayPal plans to share its users’ transaction history with merchants and advertisers to personalize the shopping experience. This initiative, already in force in the United States, could extend to other regions. Affected users can disable this option in their account privacy settings.
Microsoft now allows the installation of Windows 11 on computers that do not meet the minimum requirements, including the absence of a TPM 2.0 chip. However, the company warns that these systems may experience compatibility issues and may not receive updates. Users are therefore advised to accept a disclaimer before proceeding with the installation.
