If Microsoft is not the only company to offer ugly Christmas sweaters, it has proven in recent years that it excels in the art of ugliness. The latest model for 2024, inspired once again by the history of the firm, is no exception. Having become a tradition for six years, Microsoft’s ugly Christmas sweater this year pays homage to the Xbox 360 console and its famous power button. This may glow green or display the red ring of death, signaling a critical failure rendering the console unusable.
However, fans may be disappointed if they hope to wear it for the holidays: according to The Verge, this model is reserved for Microsoft employees and is already almost out of stock in the company’s internal store.
This isn’t the first time Microsoft has shown off its Christmas sweater skills. Last year, the firm launched a model using the colors of the famous Windows XP wallpaper. In previous years, it was inspired by its emblematic mascot Clippy, the game “Minesweeper”, Windows 95 and the image editing software Paint.
