Path of Exile 2 is gearing up for its Early Access launch, scheduled for early next month. So, Grinding Gear Games has shared a ton of new information, including how to access the game, as well as its content.
Path of Exile 2 Early Access is Coming Soon, Here's What You Need to Know
To access this early access, players can now purchase support packs (from €31.49 on Xbox Series X|S), or benefit from free access provided they have spent at least €480 $ in Path of Exile 1 on a single platform. Progression will be permanent, with no character deletions, although balance changes may impact characters over the course of updates. Microtransactions and storage tabs already acquired in Path of Exile 1 will be partly available in the new opus, with progressive additions to cover everything.
Early Access will also include split-screen co-op on a single account at launch. Players will be able to explore the world and fight the evil forces of Wraeclast together, while discovering new mechanics and upgrades. Reflecting the ongoing development nature of the game, the developers encourage the community to share their thoughts and stream their experience without restrictions.
Finally, a cosmetics store, including microtransactions from Path of Exile 1, will be accessible. Fans will also be able to purchase exclusive options, such as designing unique items or divination cards, which will be introduced in limited quantities at a later date.
Grinding Gear Games has already specified that early access for Path of Exile 2 should last at least 6 months, which should give players time to first discover the 3 campaign acts, the 6 classes, the 50 bosses and around 400 types of monsters. Content will be regularly enriched during the Early Access period, doubling the size of the game until its official release. More details are available in the FAQ shared by the studio.
Early access for Path of Exile 2 will begin this December 6, at exactly 8 p.m. Paris time. The new, highly anticipated hack 'n' slash will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. When it exits its early access phase, it will then become free-to-play.
