This chair invented by Whirlpool promises to clean your clothes without going through the washing machine

Designed by the Spanish manufacturer Atenzza Outdoor, the Ecoplen fabric, launched in the wake of Covid-19 (promising that the virus would have a lifespan of less than two hours in contact with this innovative material) is sold as “purifying and eliminating constantly pollutants in the air. Water-repellent, anti-static and free of fluorocarbon, this fabric must also resist UV rays for five years.

This fabric exhibits self-disinfecting properties for fungi, bacteria and viruses. Thanks to the incorporation of titanium dioxide (TiO2) particles, most stains from clothing can be removed by exposure to sunlight for 48 to 72 hours, with a recommended exposure of 10 days for removal. complete. “This material helps neutralize bacteria and odors, keeping clothes fresh longer without excessive use of the washing machine,” enthuses the Whirlpool team.

To bring this project to life, Italian designer Fabio Novembre and furniture manufacturer Natuzzi were commissioned. The seat “offers an innovative solution for managing clothes, encouraging a rethinking of washing habits and reducing energy consumption linked to frequent washing”he explains.
