Watches or jewelry? The question arises when watchmaking is only two hands away from jewelry

Anna Sawai, New Zealand actress and ambassador of the Cartier house, elegantly appropriates a watchmaking creation for the big nights: the Jewelery watch. The Deco aesthetic, woven with geometry and contrasts, shines through with 2.96 carats of brilliant-cut and rose-cut diamonds with a soft and subtle sparkle. Opposite, the Baignoire de Cartier watch sees its oval shape and its fine bangle bracelet enhanced by 351 diamonds totaling 7.98 carats. Hours and minutes are also suspended from the beauty of the stones which completely adorn Cartier’s latest jewelry watches. Already gifted at transforming itself, the Baignoire model metamorphoses into a wave of light: a double row of diamonds as a bracelet and a “snow-set” dial, that is to say stones of random size. Less known, a fine Art Deco jewelry watch unfolds its dazzling geometry to the rhythm of a fully articulated bracelet, flexible like a chain. The diamonds can be admired there, alternating between two types of settings: sunken and triangular grain. In keeping with the Art Deco spirit, the case is octagonal and houses a square sunray silver dial, the back of which seems to come to life under the sapphire crystal cut with nine facets.

Omega also blurs the boundaries between watchmaking and jewelry with its new Constellation collection. Each timepiece includes, in three “jewel” sizes of 25 mm, 28 mm and 29 mm, the spiral pattern already adopted during the complete makeover of the range. Today, this hypnotic swirl returns in a variety of colors that offer a choice of twenty possibilities. Faithful to the historical heritage of the Constellation, the design retains its iconic details: a diamond-paved bezel and half-moon facets at the ends of the case. This can be in steel, in a gold and steel duo, or even in 18 ct Moonshine yellow gold or 18 ct Sedna pink gold, two shades specific to Omega. Under dials made powerful by electrochemical engraving, the motor of these new Constellations is either automatic (29 mm model) or quartz (25 mm and 28 mm models).
