Garmin has launched public beta version 12.10 for the Venu 3 and vivoactive 5 wearables. This latest update comes just nine days after its predecessor, version 12.08. The changelog for the new software shows three amendments for these smartwatches.
The 12.10 beta patch notes indicate that optimizations have been made to the pool swimming activity. However, these optimizations were seen in the last two updates, versions 12.06 and 12.08. New to this software is support for the recently launched Garmin Strength Coach. This feature launched earlier this year alongside the Cycling Coach, at the same time the original Garmin Coach was renamed the Running Coach. This tool can be used to generate personalized workout programs based on your goals and exercise equipment.
The latest change is the update of GCM Translations to version 2.23. You can download Beta 12.10 by going to the main menu > Settings > System > Software Update. It is not yet known when a public version of this update will be released to all users. If you own a vivoactive 5 (currently $199.99 at Amazon) or a Venu 3 smartwatch, you can join the beta program through Garmin Connect.
