There is (still) something new at ChatGPT. We remember that a week ago, its publisher, the Californian company OpenAI, launched a real-time search engine on the web within its conversational agent. Shortly before, OpenAI had offered another function: fluid voice interactions with ChatGPT. Called “advanced voice mode”, this function is now available to all users of this service, whether they are paying subscribers or not.

This voice mode was presented last May by OpenAI, during a demo which caused a lot of talk. The company's managers had shown how it was possible to chat in a completely natural way with ChatGPT, by interrupting him in the middle of his sentences, asking him to be funnier, polite or impertinent, by making him sing or laugh. “This is the first time we've taken a big step forward in ease of use. This is extremely important because it is the future of interaction between us and machines,” said Mira Murati, the technology director of the start-up, who has since left OpenAI.
