Late on Sunday afternoon, five people – including three young girls – were injured in a collision between two passenger cars in Güttingen (TG). Both drivers were seriously injured.
A 24-year-old motorist lost control of his car in a right turn on the Güttingen road towards Sommeri (TG), Thurgau cantonal police said on Sunday evening. He found himself in the opposite lane and collided with a car coming in the opposite direction, driven by a 51-year-old man, with three young girls aged between 10 and 14 on board.
Seriously injured, the 51-year-old man had to be extracted from the damaged car by firefighters. The three girls were slightly injured and taken to hospital for a check-up. The 24-year-old was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
The reason why the man lost control of his car is still unknown. The road was closed for several hours. The material damage would amount to several tens of thousands of francs.
