With the Galaxy RGalaxy Ring: the first update is here but the Oura Ring remains better, Samsung has achieved an interesting breakthrough in a niche market, that of connected rings. Very good alternative to the Galaxy Watch, in particular thanks to effective health monitoring and a less invasive design, the latter would be destined to evolve in the months to come with a new iteration. Rumors are already talking about its successor, the Galaxy Ring 2.
On the Naver blog, a leaker already mentions a product under development, which Samsung plans to launch “a little earlier than expected”. This information is quite evasive given that we do not yet know the frequency of renewal of this range of products. If we follow that of the Galaxy Watch, an announcement during July/August 2025 with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 during the summer Galaxy Unpacked would be more than likely, with marketing in the following weeks.
Without giving details, the informant adds that Samsung's next connected ring would benefit from several notable improvements, including increased autonomy, a thinner format and additional features. Regarding this last change, we can largely assume that developments will take place at the health level, whether with additional measurements and data analysis or more precise sensors.
Arguments which could logically appeal to more users, and in particular those still reluctant to this new category of products. Other improvements are also hoped for, such as NFC technology to make payments and a GPS sensor to record activity tracks. We could also imagine a microphone/speaker combo to interact with a voice assistant (like Wizpr).
