Only the most recent models will be compatible with these new generative artificial intelligence tools from Apple, namely the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16. Users of iPad and Mac models equipped with an M1 chip and later will also be able to benefit from it.
The end of uncertainties
After months of waiting, Apple confirmed that its toolsartificial intelligence generative will be available in French from April 2025 for European iPhone and iPad users. Meanwhile, Mac users can already explore these features via the macOS Sequoia 15.1 update, provided the language is set to US English. This announcement ends the uncertainty around Apple’s AI strategy in Europe. The deployment had been delayed due to European regulations on the opening of systems, a constraint to which Apple had to adjust, reports RTL.
An AI designed to simplify daily life
Apple Intelligence aims to transform the way users interact with their devices. Here is an overview of the first functions deployed:
– automatic notification summaries to gain clarity
Write-enabled Siri for discreet queries
magically remove unwanted elements from a photo with a simple gesture
Ultimately, AI will enable Siri to execute complex actions based on natural language instructions. Need a summary of your latest emails? Siri does it effortlessly. Are you looking for a photo of an event, but you forgot the date? Describe it vaguely, and your iPhone will find it in an instant.
A gradual and selective deployment
Apple is taking a phased approach to introducing its AI features, first making them available to English-speaking users with the iOS 18.1 update. In Europe, iPhone and iPad will not receive the full update until April 2025. However, only the most recent models will benefit from these new features. These are the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 as well as the iPad and Macs with an M1 chip or newer. A minimum storage capacity of 4 GB will also be required.
