The GoPro Hero11 Black takes the traditional design of the action cameras in the range, still with this square-shaped housing. Its dimensions are 72 × 51 × 33 mm for a weight of 153 g. The camera design is excellent, with solid materials and waterproofing up to 10m. In terms of ergonomics, its small size is clearly an advantage, and it also benefits from a very good grip. You can of course attach it to a harness or on a pole for better grip.
You will find the 2.27″ touchscreen present at the back, and a smaller screen back at the front. It has a 27 Mpx sensor in 8:7 format, to capture videos in 16:9 and 9:16, ideal for social networks or YouTube. Admittedly, this model is not the very latest generation, but less than €300 is a very good price for a quality versatile action camera – with two batteries offered as a bonus. Without matching high-end cameras, the GoPro action camera offers very beautiful images, even in low light. It can film with a maximum definition of 5.3K, and up to 60 fps. Existing GoPro presets are calibrated well enough to avoid having to search for the right video settings yourself to get great images.
You will find a mode for making timelapses, as well as a mode called Star Trails to capture the starry sky with the movement of the Earth. In terms of autonomy, the Hero11 Black will last a little over an hour in 4K/60 fps. A somewhat low autonomy, fortunately compensated by the two additional batteries.
