We all know that foldable phones would be the best option on the market if they weren’t so expensive what if their screen didn’t have that big crease that goes across the screen where it bendsbut Samsung seems to have found the solution.

This information comes from popular leaker Ice Universe, who has one of the best track records when it comes to reliable rumors. It appears that the “crease control” of the next special edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is “better than ever”.

Now, we don’t expect this Special Edition model to appear anywhere other than South Korea and China, but it bodes well for Samsung’s future foldables that will be available more widely, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

An ultra flexible crystal to solve the problem

According to respected industry analyst Ross Young, the improvement could be due to Samsung using ultra flexible glass (UFG) for the first time : This high-strength panel technology is a little thinner around the fold, meaning a more uniform appearance.

Foldable screen technology has improved significantly over the years, let’s not forget that the first Galaxy Fold phone was launched in 2019but these screens still aren’t completely flat when opened outwards, due to the underlying hinge.

Even on our favorite foldable phones, including the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and OnePlus Open, the crease remains visible despite technological improvements in recent years.

We’ll have to wait to see for ourselves how far Samsung has progressed in this area, but it’s fair to say that progress is being made year after year. And apparently the crease issue is one of the reasons we haven’t seen a foldable iPhone yet.

Regarding the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition, Previously leaked renders have suggested it will be a slimmer modelwith larger screens inside and out.
