The BMW Skytop follows in the footsteps of the Bavarian brand’s roadsters, such as the BMW 507 and Z8. The aerodynamic shape of the hood, inspired by the famous BMW “shark nose”, as well as the tapered line of the rear, recall the design of the BMW Z8. Under the hood, we find the 4.4-liter V8 engine delivering a maximum power of 625 horsepower. This engine is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission and the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system, ensuring optimal traction and exceptional stability in all conditions. With this setup, the BMW Skytop can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
Exclusive design and quality materials
The exclusivity of the BMW Skytop is reflected in every detail of its exterior design. The pronounced line that extends from the hood to an aluminum bar on the trunk highlights the fluidity and dynamism of the vehicle’s shapes. Traditional door handles have been replaced by fins discreetly integrated into the door shoulders, adding to the roadster’s sleek appearance. The front and rear headlights, with their ultra-slim design, also contribute to the modern appearance of the vehicle. These lighting units have been specially designed for this model. The Skytop is equipped with a leather-covered roll bar. Its retractable rear window and soft roof are also covered in leather. The two removable sections of the roof, made of high-quality synthetic leather, can be stored in a compartment provided for this purpose in the trunk. The seats, decorated with a pattern inspired by the brogue style, are dressed in the same color as that of the roof. With only 50 examples produced, this model is aimed at collectors looking for a rare piece and an unrivaled driving experience.
