A forest sofa in the Horizons Nouveaux woods

Located in the clearing at the intersection of several trails, this user-friendly tool could become the base camp for many classes who attend school outside during the week or for youth associations on the weekend. This sofa was installed and financed by the CRIE of Mouscron (Regional Environmental Initiation Center) with the help of numerous participants and volunteers during a participatory project organized on October 2.

Forest sofa, kesako?

It is a kind of bench made of stacked branches, which serves as a place of gathering and exchange for rituals and meals, allowing one to warm up thanks to the reverberation of the heat of the central fire, while offering shelter from wind and possibly rain.

This tool is alive, it is important to:

• respect it;
• leave it in good condition for the following;
• leave it clean;
• leave the branches in place;
• help consolidate it.
